ABOUT
“My artistic practice is dedicated to my inner child” -Kadie Kelly
LGBTQ speaker, artist, and inner child advocate; ambient piano and experimental composer; performer, band leader, writer, music educator, and sound healing practitioner.
Her stories and music revolve around her personal and existential journeys. Raised in a large, diverse family outside Detroit, Michigan, she discovered her love for piano and honed her public speaking skills at church and as student body president of her high school. She later ventured to Provo, Utah, to attend Brigham Young University, followed by a period of proselytizing in French in the south of France. Eventually, she settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she completed her college education and raised her two sons as a divorced, single mother.
She earned a master’s degree in Public Policy from Mills College, founded the short-lived Oakland Single Parents’ Network, and served as a guest lecturer at Touro University’s Public Health Department—while also teaching piano lessons and composing music. She also worked as a nonprofit development director and event liaison for social justice organizations and was a policy fellow for San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris.
In all her endeavors, she encourages introspection, adventure, and authenticity. Her upcoming collection of ambient solo piano music, Journey to Innocence, will be released in 2025.
She is the founder of the world’s first Inner Child Museum, making the invisible connection visible.
