Welcome! Your inner muse is happy you are here! And so am I…

Adults and children alike-thank you for checking out my website. Teaching piano lessons is my way of infusing the world with beauty and expression. Giving students the tools and encouragement to build their skills at the piano is not only a lot of fun, the benefits spill over into so many other aspects of their lives: Creative, social/emotional, executive function, fine-motor, confidence to perform in front of others, grit, etc, etc, etc. I’m sure you are aware of all of this if you are considering lessons.

I now offer lessons in person and online, in real-time, using Zoom video conferencing software (which is free to download) . It’s a really great way to interact! To optimize the experience it helps to have an iPad and a tripod (costs about $35 you can order one on Amazon), and a strong internet connection. My students who learn this way really enjoy it! And, there is a recording of each lesson to refer back to if you need help remembering the techniques from the lesson! AND its a lot cheaper than having me come to your home, which is not always practical anyway. You can eliminate the tidying up step on your end.

It does takes some practice to become comfortable with performing in front of others, that’s where recitals and summer music camp come in! My students enjoy a safe, supportive and fun group to grow with. Here are some post recital pictures of our group at Piedmont Center for the Arts.

For my online students there will be performance opportunities for you too. Some will be virtual recitals, others will be in person, depending on your location. The interactions with other students and  bringing yourself to the point of being able to play something you’ve learned for others is the most important milestone to ensure you’ll retain what you’ve learned and continue enjoying it. The applause and just the feeling of personal achievement from the experience is a memorable pay off and a win that translates into more confidence in other areas of your life. Stop deferring your dreams!! Email me at pianolessons@kadiekelly.com and I’ll give you a free intro lesson where we can get acquainted and try a few things out on the piano. You know you want to!

The pictures below are from my summer music camp that I host with Ward and Debbie Spangler in Oakland, Ca. You can email me to inquire about that too. The camp fills up early so inquire early for our 2018 schedule.
